Take a Number

I never did this last year, so I don’t have the numbers to compare. But once again, a small challenge has been issued by Ms. Strawberry Singh using the Avatar Ruler found on marketplace to display just a few numbers concerning our shapes in SL, and for those who did it before, how it’s changed since the introduction of mesh. How much you divulge is up to you, but if you want to take part, just head on over here for information, and join the Flickr group to add yours to the pool!

1. How has the introduction of mesh affected your SL, if at all? Are you open to wearing mesh often or do you still shy away from it?

Mesh has mostly just affected the way I shop. I wear it about half the time, and I look at a product differently when it’s mesh. Not good or bad, but more in terms of if I think the arms will fit rather than how the prim will move.

2. Have you changed your shape to fit into mesh? If so, did you go bigger or smaller?

I have a few versions of my shape (leaving my original shape intact), & all are reductions of either breasts or ass to fit within the size that matches the rest of my avatar.

3. Do you think the mesh deformer will resolve a lot of the issues people seem to have with mesh and will it encourage you to wear mesh more often, if you don’t already?

From what I’ve seen, I don’t konw if the deformer is the fix, or at least, the final fix. I don’t know if anything will get me to wear mesh 100% because there’s still issues I find with it. I have trouble layering, & I hate when clothes looks like it’s floating atop my body (mostly with straps, swimsuits, or underwear garments). For those things, I’ll probably wear system texture clothing layers for a long time.
