52 Weeks of Color – Folly

Bold, bright – when I see the color Folly, I could only think of science fiction, the kind where colors punch through an otherwise dark and noir film for a purpose. Example: Bladerunner. And then I struggled through my wardrobe, realizing I’m lackluster in that department. Nevertheless, it was an excuse to shop a little, grabbing another version of the Retro Henley from Aura, and to visit one of my oldest of the favorite sims list, Devil’s Moon. Some changes seem to have removed part of it that looked so very Bladerunner, but I suppose the notion is still there in the details.

On a related note, check out this short feature on Douglas Trumball’s setup and design for that opening sequence to the movie, which still blows me away. All special effects in this movie were done in-camera – the last to do so – until the Director’s Cut many years later.
